Every self-respecting story must possess a fundamental requirement, it must be able to indelibly tell its tradition and its future expectations and when it comes to Dodo Mariani this requirement takes on the aspect of innovation.
Dodo trained in his father’s historic workshop based in Milan around 1960 and by refining his techniques, artistic talents and eclectic spirit, he managed to emerge by giving life to his own, creations that thanks to his own city he learns to make known to the whole world, differentiating his style, as well as in goldsmithing, also in that of high fashion.
In the 60s, Dodo made himself known for his eclectic and innovative signature which he would use between 1960 and 1970 to sign the collections De Beers, with a diamond set before its own name.
Dodo’s story certainly doesn’t stop here, in fact Dodo Mariani has been known since 1967 with his classic ” cybernetic animals”, in full robotic style that feed the imagination of those who observe them.
As already explained Dodo is not simply known for the high jewelery it manages to work with, but in the 80s it is also able to distinguish itself for a vast line of leather goods with a unique and unmistakable style, inspired by the first two letters that place the name Dodo, of DO.
A success story, it certainly doesn’t stop at this, it looks for possibilities beyond its own limits, and it will be Dodo himself who signs with his name Dodo Mariani the 1994 creation of the notorious Princess Diana earrings.
His sensational encounters proceed year after year, success after success, so much so that Dodo and Dodo jewels in the year 2000 are presented by Dodo same as the jewels dedicated to the family directly to the holy father Pope John Paul II, the sketch of the family is still kept in the Vatican museums.
In the same year Dodo Mariani and the jewel for the family were presented in a television program by Paolo Limiti on Rai 1.
In the same year Dodo is the first goldsmith to present a bronze sculpture exhibited in Rapallo, in the Josemaría Escrivá square with the name “From the jewel to the monument”, also in the same year 2000 we like to remember Dodo also for its important sculpture once again inspired by the family, which bears its name “The family”, created by the great glass masters of Murano .
But the innovations of Dodo Mariani high jewelery certainly do not stop here, so much so that Dodo himself was the first to bring chocolate into jewellery, creating the first chocolate jewel.
The eclectic style of Dodo Mariani has no brakes, and in 2002 Dodo created Medellin in the mystery of the woman and the bottle of coca-cola.
In 2004, Dodo jewels took off in what is the collection in collaboration with Moet & Chandon, creating the “Perlage” collection em> in white gold and diamonds.
There are many artists and celebrities who wear Dodo jewels such as the jewel “L’amor” worn by Manuela Arcuri in 2014 signed by Dodo Mariani.
In December 2016 the new showroom based in Santa Margherita Ligure was inaugurated and entirely signed by Dodo Mariani.
