Moreover, speaking of milestones, one cannot fail to mention the period of Taisho, which in that period pocket watches were still very popular, Kintarō was however determined to go one step further and in 1913 he achieved his goal by inventing the first wristwatch, the Laurel, but the company managed to produce 30/50 watches a day.

So we had to start over, immediately after the earthquake a watch completely new, kicking off the brand we know today, that watch brings for name the same brand as the company, becoming its namesake, the Seiko.

It was 1969 when Seiko achieved its first great real record, that is, it patented and marketed the first quartz watch of the world, the Seiko Quarz Astron, which was presented in Tokyo on December 25, 1969 and offered unparalleled performance, was accurate within 5 seconds per month, 100 times more precise than any other watch ever designed, it ran continuously for a year without stopping, setting the record for lasting 250 times longer than any mechanical watch. span>

In 1973, Seiko introduced the world’s first watch to use a liquid crystal display with 6 digits able to show the hour, minutes, seconds to the observer.
